good works can never save you from hell fire.infact there are those who always pray, always give charity to the poor and yet are punished in hell. why? because they did them not for the sake of GOD but to show to others that they pray and to show others that they are generous. so by showing up your good works to others not for the sake of obeying GOD will earn one a punishment in hell fire.
what will truly save you from hell fire is the mercy of GOD only. those who will earn the mercy of GOD will enter paradise with cool gardens that you get all that you desire.
and those who will earn the mercy of GOD are the believers of GOD who worship HIM alone and are obedient to HIM. those who are disobedient to GOD and dont ask GOD's forgiveness may earn GOD's anger and far from HIS mercy. www.islamtomorrow.com

yes, it will. we have several sacraments to cleanse us from our sinful acts. as long as we feel guilt and we do something to redeem ourselves, i believe that god's mercy will have a big impact in the judgement towards our afterlife.
