Emo is a short term for emotion. It means that emo's are very emotional people. They hate the world as much as they hate themselves. They get easily agitated with others, and their hatred can lead to self mutilation.
I for one don't believe in Emo. Emo is simply the birth child of Punk and Goth.
You mix a person who hates the world to with a person that cry everytime she sees the evils of the world, and you get a self mutilating kid who doesn't even know where his roots began.

Emo (pronounced /�i�mo�/) is a genre of music that originated from hardcore punk [1] early on, and adopted pop-punk influences later on in the 2000s when it became mainstream.
It has since come to describe several variations of music with common roots and associated fashion and stereotypes.

The so-called "indie emo" scene survived until the late 1990s, as many of the bands either disbanded or shifted to mainstream styles. As the remaining indie emo bands entered the mainstream, newer bands began to emulate the mainstream style. As a result, the term "emo" became a vaguely defined identifier rather than a specific genre of music.[citation needed]
From about 2004 to the present, emo referred to pop-punk bands such as Good Charlotte, Fall Out Boy and Simple Plan who took the influence of original indie emo acts and mixed them with pop-punk in the like of Blink-182.

Parang sinagot mo na yung tanong mo eh. Kao uncompleted answer. Masyadong malabo. But anyway I have my own opinion too. Sila yung mga taong very sensitive persons. Hindi lahat ng emo very too quite emotional, there are others that just using the word EMO just for there own outfit to make others impressed.

Naglalaslas ng pahorizontal. King gusto nila magpakamatay dapat vertical.
Hindi ako EMO pero emosyonal din akong tao. Pinagiisipan ko rin ng malalim ang ibig sabihin ng buhay at kamatayan.
